the five star ratings here and elsewhere cost me 300 MB of data。 If you are in the market looking for a book about birds, to read, then this is not your book。 All it is, is an index with numbered illustrations and a description, useful perhaps only for birders。 The ebook I downloaded wasn't hyperlinked and did not contain - say a link to an audio file on the web maybe that gives you the bird call, just a description to what it sounds like in words - what good is that even to a birder, pray tell? the five star ratings here and elsewhere cost me 300 MB of data。 If you are in the market looking for a book about birds, to read, then this is not your book。 All it is, is an index with numbered illustrations and a description, useful perhaps only for birders。 The ebook I downloaded wasn't hyperlinked and did not contain - say a link to an audio file on the web maybe that gives you the bird call, just a description to what it sounds like in words - what good is that even to a birder, pray tell? Even so, it is perhaps useful to hardcore birders like that, but not the ebook version。 It's a mammoth effort otherwise, so much of work here on display。 It has perhaps taken the artist (or artists, I didn't check) ages to put all this together, but, as a book, it didn't hold any interest for me。 In this day and age, you are better off googling up stuff than going to your kindle to find out what bird it might be in yonder tree by the meadow。 。。。more

A magnificent nerd tome。 Filled with lovely paintings of every bird。 A wonderful way to daydream about my next life bird。

This is exactly what it says it is, an illustration of every bird。 The right side pages are filled of colorful drawings of the birds while the left side pages are lists of the birds and a few characteristics。 Some birds have male and female illustrations。 There are multiple indexes。 It’s a gorgeous book for any birders bookshelf。
